Cranberry Cake

1 cup sugar
2 Tbs melted butter
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup milk
2 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp baking soda
2 cups fresh cranberries, cut in half
Mix in order given. Place in a lightly greased 8 or 9 inch square pan. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
Sauce:
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter OR margarine
1/2 cup whipping dream (unwhipped)
Mix and heat for 10-15 minutes, over medium heat, stirring
frequently. Serve over hot cranberry cake.
