    Aunt Saunny

    1-1/2 lbs ground beef
    1-1/2 cups fresh or frozen chopped onions
    1 (32 oz) jar spaghetti sauce
    1/3 cup water
    1-1/2 tsp salt
    1 tsp basil
    1 tsp oregano leaves
    1 tsp sugar
    1/4 tsp pepper
    5 medium potaotes, peeled and thinly sliced
    1 (8 oz) pkg Mozzarella cheese, shredded

    In a 12 oz skillet over medium high heat, cook ground beef and onions until onions are tender, about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    Add spaghetti sauce, water, salt, basil, oregano, sugar and pepepr, cook 2 minutes more to blend flavors.

    In a 13 x 9 inch baking dish, evenly spoon 1/3 meat mixture, arrange 1/2 of potatoes on top. Repeat layers ending with meat mixture.

    Cover dish tightly with foil, bake in 375 F. oven for 1 hour or until potatoes are fork tender.

    Remove foil, sprinkle mixture evenly with Mozzarella cheese; bake 10 minutes, or until cheese melts. Let stand 10 minutes for easier cutting.
