    BUTTERFUDGE FINGERS

    Aunt Saunny

    2 squares unsweetened chocolate (2 oz.)
    1/3 cup butter
    1 cup sugar
    2 eggs
    3/4 cup sifted Flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 cup broken nuts

    Heat oven to 350°. Melt chocolate and butter over hot water. Beat in sugar, eggs. Sift dry ingredients together; stir in. Add nuts. Spreadin greased 8" sq. pan. Bake 30. to 35 min., until top has dull crust. Cool slightly.
    Make Topping. Spread on brownies. When set, cut in 2 x 1" fingers. Makes 32 fingers.

    Topping:
    Brown 1/4 cup soft butter over med. heat.
    Blend with 2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar.
    Blend in 2 tbsp. cream and 1 tsp. vanilla.
    Spread on brownies.
    Melt 1 sq. unsweetened chocolate (1 oz.) and1 tablespoon butter. When Cooled spread very thin coating over icing.
