    Chewy Double Chocolate Cookies

    yield: 4 1/2 dozen

    1 1/4 cups butter, softened
    2 cups sugar
    2 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 cup cocoa
    2 cups unsifted all purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 cups chocolate chips

    Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; blend into creamed mixture. Stir in chips. Drop by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 F for 8-9 minutes. Do not over bake; cookies will be soft. They will puff while baking and flatten while cooking. Cool slightly before removing from pan.
