    PEANUT BLOSSOM COOKIES

    Aunt Saunny

    1-3/4 cups flour
    1 tsp soda
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
    1/2 cup shortening
    1/2 cup peanut butter
    1 egg
    2 tbsp milk
    1 tsp vanilla
    48 milk chocolate kisses, peeled

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine all ingredients, except kisses, in a large mixing bowl. Mix on lowest speed until dough forms. Shape dough into balls, using a rounded teaspoonful for each. Roll balls in sugar. Place on an un-greased cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove from oven and immediately top each cookie with a
    kiss. Press down firmly so the cookie cracks around the edges.
