    Aunt Saunny

    1. You can make your own vanilla sugar by adding one or two vanilla beans, using 1 bean per 4 cups of sugar. Split the bean(s) lengthwise and scrape the contents into your sugar. Leave the beans and their scraped contents in the sugar, and seal or cover tightly until you are ready to use the sugar for your baking.

    2. For an elegant dinner, serve individual puddings or mousses in your favorite cut crystal wine glasses.

    3. Leftover croissants, pieces of French bread, challah, or baguettes make great holiday bread puddings. Zip leftovers into a bag and freeze until needed.

    4. Serve holiday punch in the center of a decorated wreath.
