French Onion Soup

1/4 cup vegetable oil
1-1/2 lbs. onions, peeled and thinly sliced
4 cups water
3 vegetable bouillon cubes
Heat oil in a skillet. Add onions and cook on medium heat until golden brown. Transfer to a pot. Add water and bouillon and simmer for 30 minutes.
