    Recipe Introduction


    Here is a recipe that has an exotic flavor of the South Seas and with a slight variation. I marinated the beef in a marinade.

    Servings: 7


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 1/8 pounds extra lean beef, thinly sliced
    • 12 1/2 bamboo skewer, soaked in soy sauce
    • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
    • 1/16 cup ginger, finely minced
    • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1/16 cup oyster sauce
    • 1/16 cup sweet bean paste
    • 1/16 cup light molasses
    • 1/8 tablespoon horseradish, grated fresh
    • 1/16 cup dry white wine
    • 1/16 cup cornstarch
    • 1/16 cup beer, sake or
    • 1/16 cup plum wine
    • 1 cup peanut oil
    • 1/2 cup soy sauce
    • 1/2 cup seseme seeds


    Instructions


    1. Marinate the beef in a mixture of peanut oil and soy sauce and seseme seed for 15-30 minutes.
    2. Thread meat onto skewers without crowding.

    3. Combine soy sauce, Brown sugar, Ginger, Cinnamon, Oyster sauce, Bean paste, Molasses, Horseradish, and wine in a aucepot over a moderate flame.

    4. Bring to aboil reduce heat,and stir until dissolved and well blended.

    5. Combine cornstarch and beer or sake-mix well.

    6. Add to saucepot, heat and stir until thickened.Remove from heat.


    7. Add plum wine-mix well.
      and brush on to skewered meat

    8. Grill over hot coals for 2-4 minuted per side until done.Baste often and arrange onto a heated serving platter.

    9. Moisten with heated sauce.Serve warm or at room temperature.




    Final Comments


    Serve over cooked white rice with fried bananas.
