    List of Ingredients


    • 4 tbsp. butter (divided)
    • 2 tbsp. flour
    • salt to taste
    • white pepper to taste
    • 2 cups milk
    • .
    • 1/4 cup diced fresh onion
    • 1/2 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
    • 1 - 1½ cups diced cooked chicken
    • 1 cup cooked spaghetti
    • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
    • .
    • 1/4 cup fresh grated parmesan
    • 1/4 cup buttered bread crumbs


    Instructions


    1. Make a white sauce with the first five ingredients: Melt 3 tbsp. of the butter in saucepan, blend in flour & seasonings until smooth. Stir over medium heat for 2 or 3 minutes (this is the roux).
    2. Add milk to the roux, stirring until smooth, and continue cooking over medium heat until thickened.
    3. Melt remaining tbsp. of butter in a large skillet; add onion & mushrooms; sauté until softened.
    4. Add diced chicken, spaghetti, lemon juice & white sauce to the skillet; mix together gently.
    5. Combine grated parmesan with buttered bread crumbs.
    6. Place chicken mixture in a baking dish, top with bread crumbs mixture and heat in a 350° oven until bubbly and crumbs have browned.
    7. Serve while hot.
