    Won baking prize with this cake, in Iredell County, NC.

    List of Ingredients




    Super Red Velvet Cake

    3 c. sugar
    1 c. Crisco
    1/2 stick margarine
    7 eggs
    1 c. milk
    3 c. plain flour
    1/4 tsp salt
    2 tsp vanilla
    1 oz. bottle red color

    Directions:
    Cream sugar and shortening well. Add an beat eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Alternate milk and flour. Add salt and vanilla. Add red coloring, mixing well into batter. Bake in greased and floured tube pan at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 45 minutes.

    Topping:
    8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
    1 box confectioners sugar
    2 Tbsp butter or margarine
    1 Tbsp instant coffee or other flavor desired

    Cream together well and spread on cake when cooled.
