    3 cups sugar
    3/4 cup light corn syrup
    3/4 cup water
    1/4 tsp salt
    2 egg whites
    1 3-oz package Lime Jello
    1 tsp vanilla
    1 cup chopped nuts

    Recipe



    Butter the sides of heavy 2-qt pan. Add sugar, syrup, water and salt, mixing well. Cook, stirring constantly until the syrup dissolves and comes to a boil. Cook to the hard ball stage (250 on a candy thermometer) without stirring. Remove from heat. Beat egg whites till soft peaks form. Gradually beat in dry gelatin until stiff peaks form. Pour hot syrup slowly over egg whites, beating constantly on high speed of mixer until soft peaks form. Add vanilla. Stir in nuts. Drop from teaspoons onto waxed paper. Makes about 60 candies. Store in sealed container to make it last longer.

    Note: Rainy days not a good time to make this! Also, the first two or three candies you drop will be kind of soft. Shapes hold better after
    that.

    Also note: I have used Raspberry Jello which is also good! Would bet lemon or orange might be as well, but the lime flavor is the best!
