Never Fail Dumplings

2 c. flour
4 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1 T. shortening
3/4 c. milk
Sift flour, baking powder and salt together;
cut in shortening. Add milk for soft dough.
Drop by spoonful into boiling liquid (soup or stew)
and boil for 20 minutes, covered, without removing the lid.
The latter part is the success part.
