Recipe Introduction
We love iced tea! I've always got a gallon made, with quarts of this "concentrate" ready to go.
List of Ingredients
All of the ingredients are to taste. You have to tweak it to suit your own.
2-3 Family Size Decaf tea bags (I buy Luzianne brand at Super Walmart)
1-3 regular size decaf flavor of choice (can omit - you don't have to add the flavored teas)
sweetener equivelant to 1/2 - 1 cup sugarRecipe
This is how I make our tea - I've been making it this way for years. I make 4 containers at once, so I take 4 (1 quart) canning jars. I put my tea bags in and then pour in approximately 3 cups of boiling water.
I let this steep for 40 minutes. Remove tea bags. Add sweetener and stir.
This quart concentrate will make 1 gallon of tea. Pour the concentrate into a one gallon container and fill the rest of the way with water. When cool, store in refrigerator.
If you like chai - throw in a bag or two. My husband likes me to add 3 raspberry tea bags. He also likes it sweeter than I do. So it's all up to your own taste.
I use canning jars as they will not break when you add the boiling water.
