Recipe Introduction
Level 1 ~ Pro/Fat ~ Janice's quote: This is a recipe I made up and have served to many. Everyone that has tasted it requests the recipe. Preparation time is approximately 10-15 minutes.
List of Ingredients
1 1/2 pound ground beef (I use sirloin)
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 green pepper, chopped
salt
2 (14 ounce) cans diced tomatoes, do not drain
1 small can tomato paste (Hunt's has no sugar added)
1 tablespoon Essence of Emeril
2 cups of Cheddar, CoJack or Colby cheese (shredded)
Recipe
Brown the hamburger, onion and green pepper (adding salt while cooking) and drain well.
Add 2 cans diced tomatoes with juice, can of tomato paste and the Essence of Emeril. Cook on medium for about 5 minutes.
Turn off heat and stir cheese into the mixture. Serve when cheese is just about melted. If you want, add another 1/2 tablespoon of the Essence of Emeril for a spicier taste.
