1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
1 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1/3 teaspoon Splenda
1/3 teaspoon salt
3-4 cloves of fresh garlic
1/2 small sweet red pepper

Start by putting 2 of the 3 tablespoons of olive oil in a saucepan. Reserve the remaining 1 tablespoon for later. Crush your garlic and finely chop the red pepper and add it to the saucepan. Saute slowly until soft. Once soft add the can of tomatoes, garlic and onion powder, oregano, sweetener, and salt. Let sauce simmer slowly
about 10 minutes. Add your reserved tablespoon of olive oil 3 minutes before done and mix in. That's it your done.
I hope everyone enjoys this recipie as much as we do. I saute chicken breasts in olive oil with salt, pepper and garlic. Once it's done I cover it with mozzarella cheese and put it under the broiler to melt then I top it with the marinara sauce. That with a big salad is a quick great meal.

* Deb's notes: I made this for the first time tonight and doubled the recipe. I made the sauce exactly to the recipe and it was a huge hit! I flattened the chicken breasts (they were very thick) and sauteed them according to the recipe. So good! I now use this (doubled) for our spaghetti sauce; I add 1 pound browned ground beef and 1/2 pound browned Italian sausage, served over raw shredded zucchini - wonderful!
