    Grammamoo's Ham Loaves

    We rarely had an Easter dinner when I was growing up that these were not served. I can still smell the aroma and taste them as I type!

    This particular recipe was developed by my wonderful Grammamoo and a couple of her church lady friends. It was served at many a church fund raising meal to help pay for the education building at our church.

    List of Ingredients




    3# cured ham, ground
    1# ground beef
    2 cups bread crumbs or cracker crumbs
    4 eggs, beaten
    1 cup evaporated milk
    ½ tsp. pepper

    Recipe



    Mix all ingredients lightly and form into individual oval loaves. Top with the sauce and bake at 350 degrees for 1 ½ hours.
    These freeze well, without the sauce.

    Sauce

    1 cup brown sugar
    3 Tbs. prepared mustard
    enough vinegar to make a thick sauce

    Mix together and pour over the loaves.
    Note: I usually prepare 2x the mixture.
