Marinated Flank Steak

1 to 1-1/2 lbs flank steak
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 T hoisin sauce
2 to 3 T honey
2 to 3 T soy sauce
2 T white or cider vinegar
Recipe
Lay steak on a cutting board, and using a sharp knife, lightly score the steak in a cross hatch pattern on both sides. This prevents steak from curling and allows marinade flavor to permeate meat. In a large low pan, whisk together all ingredients except steak. Place steak in the pan and turn to coat both sides. Cover pan with plastic wrap or
transfer steak and marinade to a plastic bag. Refrigerate for at least 5 to 6 hours or up to a day. Grill or broil steak for about 5 minutes on each side, turning often and basting with any extra marinade. When done, remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes before slicing on
the diagonal.
Hint: You may want to double this recipe because leftovers, combined with grilled vegetables or salad greens, make a wonderful salad or sandwich.
