Punch: Champagne Punch

Recipe Introduction
"This elegant punch will have your guests begging for the recipe. Be sure the champagne or sparkling wine has chilled at least 6 hours or until very cold. The liqueur base may be combined up to one day before serving."
List of Ingredients
1/2 cup cassis (blackberry) or cranberry liqueur
1/2 cup orange-flavored liqueur such as Grand Mariner
2 bottles (750 ml) champagne or sparkling wine, well chilled
Lemon twists (optional)
Recipe
Combine both liqueurs in a 2-1/2 quart decorative glass pitcher. Cover and chill until cold. Just before serving, tilt pitcher; slowly pour in chilled champagne and gently stir with a long spoon. Serve in fluted glasses; garnish with twists, if desired.
Makes 8 cups, about 16 servings
