    List of Ingredients




    2 1/2 cups Oreo cookies, crumbled in blender or processor
    4 1 oz. unsweetened chocolate squares, divided
    3 cups sifted powdered sugar
    1 cup chopped pecans or almonds, toasted
    1/4 cup water
    2 tsp vanilla extract
    1/2 gallon Cookies and Cream ice cream (rectangular carton)

    Spread 1-cup Oreo cookie crumbs in bottom of a buttered 13 X 9 X 2inch dish; set aside.

    Combine 4 ounces of unsweetened chocolate and butter in a saucepan; cook over low heat until chocolate melts. Be sure not to let the chocolate boil. Remove from heat. Add powdered sugar, chopped pecans or almonds, water, and vanilla, stirring until blended. Stir in remaining 1-½ cups Oreo cookies. Spread mixture over crumbs in dish and freeze at least 3 hours.

    Cut ice cream crosswise into ½- slices; arrange over chocolate layer, carefully spreading top of ice cream until smooth. Cover and freeze until firm.

    Let dessert stand 5 minutes before serving. Garnish, if desired with chocolate shavings or crumbled Oreo cookies.

    Yield 12-15 servings.
