    When it comes to Thanksgiving dining, Mike Bullard (Open Mike with Mike Bullard) says he'd take turkey over ham every time. "I hate ham, especially honey-glazed ham with those cloves. Yuck! Luckily, Bullard's mother used to cook turkey for the family. "Oh, she made a great turkey with cranberries -- I love cranberries -- and mashed potato balls with cornflakes on top."

    List of Ingredients




    1 orange, seeded and quartered 1
    1 cup sugar 250 mL
    3 cups fresh cranberries 750 mL
    3 tbsp orange liqueur, optional and thyme, or add to taste 50 mL


    Recipe



    In a food processor, combine orange quarters and sugar. Add cranberries and process until finely chopped. Add liqueur, if using. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.

    Makes 3 cups (750 mL).


    NOTE: If no food processor is available: dice orange sections and put cranberries through a food grinder. Mix together with sugar. Mix in orange liqueur, if using.


    Per 2 tbsp (25 mL) without liqueur: 36 calories, 0 g protein, 0 g fat, 9 g carbohydrate.
