Chip: Donna's Chocolate Chip Cookies

List of Ingredients

½ cup shortening
½ cup sugar
¼ cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 teas. vanilla
1 ¼ cups sifted flour
½ teas. baking soda
½ teas. salt
1 cup chocolate chips
½ cup walnuts(optional)



Recipe

Cream together shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy. Sift together flour, soda, and salt; stir into creamed mixture. Add chocolate chips and nuts; mix well.
Drop by teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart on a lightly greased baking sheet.

Bake at 375º F. for about 10 minutes or until lightly browned.

Makes about 3 ½ dozen cookies.
