    Dessert: Gingerbread Squares

    1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    1/2 cup whole wheat flour
    1/4 cup molasses
    1/4 cup hot water
    2 Tbsp. packed brown sugar
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. ground ginger
    1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 egg white

    Recipe

    Heat oven to 325 degrees. Spray 8 x 8 inch pan with nonstick cooking spray. Beat all ingredients in bowl on medium speed for 3 minutes. Pour into pan. Bake 15 - 20 minutes until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
    Cool 10 minutes. Cut into 9 squares.

    YIELD: 9 Servings
