    Croatian: Sarma (Stuffed Cabbage w/Sauerkraut)

    List of Ingredients

    1 head cabbage
    1 lb ground beef
    1 lb polish sausage (skin removed)
    1 lb ground cooked ham
    1 cup raw rice
    1 egg
    2 or 3 cloves minced garlic
    salt & pepper
    sauerkraut


    Recipe

    Freeze, then thaw the cabbage head (makes wrapping easy).

    Mix all ingredients together, except for the sauerkraut.

    Wrap in cabbage leaves. Place a layer of sauerkraut in the bottom of a kettle. Place the cabbage rolls on the sauerkraut.

    Top the cabbage rolls with the remainder of the sauerkraut.

    Simmer for an hour.
