List of Ingredients
2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup hot water
1/2 cup light corn syrup
2 egg whites; stiffly beaten
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 cup broken walnuts
red and green cherries
Recipe
Combine sugar, syrup, salt and hot water. Stir until dissolved and cook to the firm ball stage (248:F). Remove from heat and combine stiffly beaten egg whites with the syrup, beating constantly until mixture holds its shape and loses its gloss. Add vanilla, walnuts and cherries. Drop by dessertspoonfuls onto waxed paper, twirling
into a peak; or pour into a buttered pan and cut in squares when cool.
