Brownie: Holiday Brownie Mix

Jar...bag...it's still a great gift! This homemade mix for brownies yields dense gourmet style brownies in a snap. Pack it in pretty bags or dollar store glass jars and tie it all up with a ribbon and some instructions.

List of Ingredients

4 cups white sugar
3 cups brown sugar
5 cups all purpose flour
2 1/2 cups cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt




Recipe

Blend all ingredients with a whisk in a large bowl. Weigh four equal portions. Each portion (packed in a bag) will make one 8" x 9" or 9" x 9" pan of brownies.

INSTRUCTIONS ON GIFT TAG:

To bake:
Place about 1/4 of the mix in a bowl.

Stir in:
1 cup unsalted butter - melted and cooled
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 F.

Spoon into a lightly greased 8 or 9 by 9 inch pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes (until brownies are just set).
