Recipe Introduction


"A Greek bread, traditionally baked with small treasures inside. The finders will have good luck. If you are serving to small children use currants or raisins instead of coins and trinkets."



List of Ingredients




1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon milk
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 egg
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon grated lemon zest
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
¼ teaspoon allspice
pinch ground cloves
1-1/2 cups bread flour
1 teaspoon dry active yeast


Recipe



Combine all the ingredients.
Shape into a circle and place on a lightly grease baking sheet.
Cover and let rise until doubled in size.
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Bake until done.
