    Money Crashers

    Recipe Introduction

If you’re doing multiple loads of laundry per week, those bottles can go fast – and add up in price. An alternative is to stop buying detergent and start whipping up some of your own. Sound daunting? It actually can be done easily with just a few common household products.

    List of Ingredients

    2 gallons hot water

    1 bar soap, grated

    2 cups baking soda

    Recipe

    1. Melt bar soap in a pan with just enough boiling water to cover. Stir until the soap is completely melted.

    2. In large pail or bucket, pour in 2 gallons of hot water. Add the melted soap.

    3. Add the baking soda, and stir well. Use 1/2 cup per load, or more for oversized or very soiled loads of laundry
