    Oriental Barbecue Marinade

    Source of Recipe

    Jill Laquindanum

    Recipe Introduction

"This recipe came from my in-laws in the Philippines, and everyone who tries it loves it. They serve it with a bowl of steamed rice and a fresh salsa made of tomatoes and onions. I find it goes just as well with potato salad and cole slaw. Use this marinade for chicken or pork."

    List of Ingredients

    1/2 cup soy sauce
    1 cup Sprite soda
3 or 4 cloves garlic, crushed
    2 lemons, cut in half
    1/2 teaspoon coarse ground pepper
1 whole chicken, cut up, or 5-6 pork chops (or a combination of both)

    Recipe

Mix together the first three ingredients. Squeeze the juice from the lemons into the mix, adding the lemon rinds, too.

Add the meat and the pepper. Marinate in the refrigerator for 8-24 hours. Make sure you use a plastic or glass container.

Grill until done, and discard the marinade.
