List of Ingredients
4 ounces 100-proof whiskey
2 small pearl onions -- quartered
3/4 cup half and half
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
1/8 teaspoon white pepper
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon dry dill
1 teaspoon flour
1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
1/8 cup grated Parmesan or romano cheese
13 inch pizza crust -- store bought
toppings
Recipe
In saucepan, combine whiskey and onions and bring to a boil over medium heat.
Cook 4 minutes or until alcohol burns off. Scrape residue and onions into blender. Add half and half and cream and blend until smooth. Pour cream mixture into large mixing bowl and add white pepper, salt and dill. Add flour and olive oil and whisk until smooth and free of lumps. Place crust on pizza stone and pour white sauce over crust. Bake in preheated 450-degree oven 8 minutes. Remove
from oven-add toppings, if desired, at this point-and sprinkle Parmesan cheese over top of sauce. Return to oven and continue cooking 3-4 minutes, or until crust is light golden brown.
YIELD: 6-8 Slices
COMMENTS: I got this from my brother who lives in Austin, Tx. I don't know if it would work with garlic added, but it sure sounds like a white pizza sauce that could come close. It doesn't call for very much cheese, though. You
might want to adjust that to your tastes.
