If your grocery store doesn't carry dried figs, try a specialty supermarket such as AJ's Purveyors of Fine Foods

2 cups diced grilled chicken breast (if desired, marinate chicken in your favorite marinade before cooking)

    8 ounces mixed greens
1 cup chopped caramelized pecans (see note)
    1/2 cup dried candied cranberries
    1/2 cup crumbled goat cheese
1/2 cup dried Mission figs or other dried figs
1/2 cup dried golden Calimyrna figs or other dried figs
1/2 cup balsamic vinaigrette salad dressing

    Toss all ingredients together.

    Makes 4 servings.

Note: To make caramelized pecans, combine 1 cup chopped pecans and 2 tablespoons sugar in a non-stick skillet. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until sugar caramelizes and coats pecans. Remove from heat and let cool.
