Asparagus w/Breadcrumb Dressing

List of Ingredients
¼ cup olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced, about ½ teaspoon
¼ cup fresh, minced parsley
½ cup unseasoned breadcrumbs, preferably fresh
1 ounce country ham, minced, about ¼ cup
½ teaspoon thyme
2 pounds asparagus
Recipe
Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Add garlic and cook until aromatic. Add parsley and stir a few seconds until it wilts. Add breadcrumbs, ham and thyme. Stir to combine evenly. Remove from heat.
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Rinse and trim asparagus. Spread them in a shallow baking pan. Drizzle with 3 tablespoons olive oil. Use your fingers to scoop the asparagus so that it is all somewhat coated with olive oil. (The asparagus needn't be in a single layer but shouldn't be more than 2 or 3 stalks deep.) Sprinkle with breadcrumb mixture. Bake 10 to 20 minutes, until asparagus is softened (pencil-thin asparagus takes the least amount of time; thick asparagus takes more).
