    List of Ingredients




    1/2 cup butter
    1 large or 2 small apples, peeled, cored and sliced
    2 tablespoons brown sugar
    1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    5 eggs
    1 1/4 cups milk
    1 1/4 cups flour
    Maple syrup

    Recipe



    Place 1 tablespoon of butter in individual casseroles (onion soup dishes are ideal). Preheat in 400-degree oven. Saute apples with remaining butter for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon and simmer. Place eggs in blender and whirl at high speed for 1 minute. Gradually pour in milk, then gradually add flour. Continue whirling for 30 seconds. Remove casseroles from oven and divide apples into the hot dishes. Pour batter in equal quantities over apples. Return to oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until puffy and well browned. Serve with warm maple syrup.

    Serves 6.
    Per serving: 400 calories; 22 g fat (12 g saturated fat; 50 percent calories from fat); 40 g carbohydrates; 228 mg cholesterol; 246 mg sodium; 10 g protein; 1 g fiber.
