    Quick- Lemon Nectarine Loaf


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 medium nectarine
    • 2 1/4 cups sifted flour
    • 1 tablespoon baking powder
    • 1 teaspoons salt
    • 1/8 teaspoon mace
    • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
    • 3/4 cup sugar
    • 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
    • 2 large eggs
    • 3 tablespoon milk
    • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
    • Glaze
    • Juice of one lemon
    • 1/4 cup sugar


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 8 x 4-inch loaf pan.
    2. Finely dice nectarine to measure 1 cup.
    3. Mix flour with baking powder, salt and mace.
    4. Cream butter, sugar and lemon peel together. Beat in eggs, one at a time.
    5. Add nectarines and milk, then add flour mixture,dough should be moderately soft.
    6. Stir in walnuts.
    7. Turn into loaf pan. Place below center of oven and bake at 350 degrees F for 60 to 65 minutes.
    8. Mix together lemon juice and sugar in small bowl or measuring cup. Pour over bread when it comes out of oven.
    9. Cool bread in pan for 10 minutes. Yield 1 loaf.
