1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup sugar
1 clove garlic (crushed)
2 Tablespoons Sake or sherry
8 boneless chicken breast halvesRecipe
In a small saucepan combine soy sauce, sugar, garlic and sake. Cook and stir over low heat until sugar dissolves. Cook, uncovered about five minutes more till like a thin syrup. Cool. Pour sauce over chicken breasts in bowl. Cover and refrigerate at least four hours, turning occasionally. Remove chicken, reserving marinade. Broil chicken, skin side down, in a foil-lined broiler pan about 6 to 7 minutes. Turn, broil 7 minutes more or till done. Heat the reserved marinade. Slice the chicken crosswise; arrange on serving platter. Pour sauce over.
