    Carrots- In Mustard Sauce


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 (12 ounce) package baby carrots, scraped
    • 1 tablespoon butter
    • 1 tablespoon all purpose flour
    • 1 cup milk or half-and-half
    • 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
    • 1 tablespon chopped fresh chives


    Instructions


    1. Cook carrots in a small amount of boiling salted water 10 to 12 minutes or until crisp-tender. Drain well; set aside.
    2. Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat; add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minutes, stirring constantly.
    3. Gradually add milk; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly. Stir in mustard, salt, and pepper.
    4. Pour over carrots; toss gently. Sprinkle with chives. Yield 4 servings.
