    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 cup margarine or butter
    • 1/2 cup brown sugar
    • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 egg
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • 1 cup flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon soda
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1 scant cup quick or old fashioned oats
    • 1 scant cup crisped rice cereal
    • 1/2 cup shredded or flaked coconut
    • 1/2 cup chopped pecans


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Blend and cream the margarine and the sugar. Add the egg and vanilla. Mix well.
    2. Combine the flour, soda, baking powder, and salt. Add to the creamed mixture. Mix thoroughly.
    3. Add in the following order and mix by hand: the oats, the cereal, and the nuts.
    4. Drop by desired sized spoon onto an ungreased baking sheet. Press with a floured fork and bake for 10-12 minutes.
    5. Remove the cookies from the pan when they're done and let them cool on a wire rack. Store in an air-tight container when they're completely cooled.
