Apple Valley Ranger Cookies

List of Ingredients
- 1/2 cup margarine or butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 scant cup quick or old fashioned oats
- 1 scant cup crisped rice cereal
- 1/2 cup shredded or flaked coconut
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Blend and cream the margarine and the sugar. Add the egg and vanilla. Mix well.
- Combine the flour, soda, baking powder, and salt. Add to the creamed mixture. Mix thoroughly.
- Add in the following order and mix by hand: the oats, the cereal, and the nuts.
- Drop by desired sized spoon onto an ungreased baking sheet. Press with a floured fork and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Remove the cookies from the pan when they're done and let them cool on a wire rack. Store in an air-tight container when they're completely cooled.
