    Apple Fritters 2

    List of Ingredients

    2 1/4 cups flour
    1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
    pinch of salt
    1 cup milk
    1 cup apple cider
    1 1/4 pounds tart apples
    1 1/4 cups sugar
    1 cup apple liqueur or sweet cider
    Oil for frying
    powdered sugar

    Recipe

    Mix together flour, 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar and salt in large mixing bowl. Make a well; pour into it gradually the milk and 1 cup apple cider, alternating between the two; stirring constantly. Cover the mixture and let it sit for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, peel and core the apples, cut them into 1/4 inch thick rounds. Stir the plain sugar into the liqueur and let the apple slices sit in this mixture for 30 minutes or more. Heat oil to 370 degrees. Coat each apple with the batter and fry, a few at a time in the hot oil till golden brown on both sides. Drain well, then sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve hot.
