    Turtle Bars

    List of Ingredients




    1-14 oz. bag of caramels
    1/3 cup + 1/3 cup evaporated milk
    1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
    3/4 cup butter, melted
    1 cup of chopped pecans
    1 cup milk chocolate chips

    Recipe



    Combine caramels and 1/3 cup of evaporated milk. Heat until caramels are melted. Set aside. Grease and flour a 13x9" pan. Combine dry cake mix, butter, nuts, and evaporated milk. Stir by hand and press half of the dough into the pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate chips over baked crust. Spread caramel mixture over chips. Randomly drop the remaining dough over the caramel mixture by tablespoons. Return to oven for and additional 15-18 minutes. Cool slightly and refrigerate for 30 minutes to set caramel layer. Cut into 24-36 bars.
