    Almond Frosties

    List of Ingredients




    2 1/4 cups flour
    1/2 teaspoons salt
    1 cup butter or margarine, softened
    3 tablespoons granulated sugar
    1 teaspoon almond extract

    Frosting:
    1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
    2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla
    2-3 tablespoons hot water
    1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour and salt in medium bowl. Beat butter, sugar and almond extract in mixer bowl till light and fluffy. At low speed, beat in dry ingredients till blended. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten slightly to 3/4 inch thick. Bake 15-17 minutes, till golden. Cool on wire racks.

    Frosting: Combine powdered sugar, cocoa and vanilla in bowl. Stir in water till spreadable. Frost cookies; top each with almonds. Makes 3 dozen.
