    Delicate Cream Puffs

    List of Ingredients

    1/4 cup butter
    1/2 cup boiling water
    1/2 sifted flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    2 eggs, unbeaten
    1 can chocolate icing
    1 12 oz. container whipped dessert topping

    Recipe

    Preheat oven to 450 degrees. In a 1-quart sauce pan bring 1/2 cup of water to a boil, add the butter, and keep heating until the butter melts. Add the flour and salt all at once, stirring vigorously. Keep cooking and stirring until mixture leaves the sides of the pan. Remove from the stove and cool one minute. Add unbeaten eggs one at a time, beating the mixture with a spoon until smooth.

    With a wet spoon, drop by heaping tablespoon 2 inches apart on a greased baking sheet. Shape the batter into rounds with points (or little curls) in the center. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes, then at 400 degrees for 25 minutes.

    The puffs should be high and golden brown. Set aside until completely cool. When cool, cut in half with a bread-cutting knife. Spread chocolate icing on the top part. Fill the bottom with whipped dessert topping. Put the top on the bottom.
