    Potato Facts

    French fries will be golden brown if sprinkled with flour before frying.

    Ginger root stored with potatoes will help both of them stay fresher longer.

    To bake the perfect potato, rub butter over them before baking to prevent the skin from cracking and to improve the taste. It will bake faster if it's oiled rrather than being wrapped in alluminum foil.

    Let potatoes stand in cold water at least an hour before frying. Dry before frying.

    A teaspoon of baking powder added to mashed potatoes will make them light and fluffy.
