List of Ingredients
3 lbs. potatoes, peeled, cut into chunks
8 cloves garlic, sliced
1/2 cup hot milk
1/4 butter
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. pepper
2 tbsp. olive oil
2 lbs. beef, cut into 1 inch cubes
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1 1/2 cup diced carrots
6 oz. can mushrooms
1 tsp. thyme
1 tsp. rosemary
1/3 cup flour
2 1/2 cups beef broth
1 10 oz. box frozen peas, thawed
Recipe
In pot boil potatoes and garlic until tender. Drain, and return to pot. Add milk, butter, salt and pepper. Mash and keep warm.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
In large skillet brown meat in oil. Place meat in a bowl, then saute' carrots and onions for 6 minutes. Add mushrooms, thyme, rosemary, and some salt and pepper. Cook 3 minutes. Whisk flour into broth and add to skillet. Simmer 2 minutes. Add beef and peas.
Pour into 3 qt. baking dish. Cover with potatoes, leaving 1" space around sides. Bake 25 minutes. Cool 15 minutes.
