    5 cups crushed strawberries ( I used up my berries in the freezer, I allowed them to thaw before measuring them)
    7 cups sugar
    1 box powdered pectin
    1/2 teaspoon butter

    Recipe



    Wash, stem and crush strawberries. Measure exact amount into a large cooking pot.

    Into a separate bowl measure the sugar. . .exactly.

    Stir pectin into the pot. . .add the butter.

    Bring to a full rolling boil that doesn't stop bubbling when you are stirring.

    Quickly stir in sugar and boil exactly 1 minute. . .stirring constantly.

    Remove from heat and skim foam from the surface of the jam.

    Use a 1 cup measuring cup to fill your jars. . leave a 1/2 space.

    Apply lids and tighten down.

    I always allow to cool completely and then keep them in the freezer.

    If you do not freeze. . process in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes
