    Quiche Lorraine

    For a vegetarian version, imitation bacon bits may be substituted for the real thing.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 pie shell
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 12 oz. can evaporated milk
    • 1/4 tsp. salt
    • 1/8 tsp. pepper
    • 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
    • 3 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled(or imitation bacon bits)
    • 1 cup shredded swiss cheese


    Instructions


    1. Brush pie shell with egg white. This will prevent the crust from becoming soggy.
    2. Sprinkle bacon first, then swiss cheese over bottom of shell.
    3. Beat eggs, and stir in milk and seasonings.
    4. Carefully pour over cheese and bacon.
    5. Bake 15 minutes at 425 degrees. Reduce oven temperature and bake at 350 degrees til knife inserted center comes out clean(about 30 minutes).


    Final Comments


    If crust edge starts to become too brown, it may be covered with foil.
