    Fig Meringue Torte

    List of Ingredients




    3 egg whites
    1 cup sugar
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 cup chopped walnuts
    1 1/2 cups ground California dried figs
    20 Ritz crackers, finely crushed
    1/2 tsp. vanilla extract


    Recipe



    Beat.....egg whites in bowl until stiff peaks form

    Add.....sugar gradually, beating until stiff.

    Combine.....remaining ingredients in bowl

    Fold....into meringue

    Spoon.....into buttered 8-inch springform pan

    Bake....at 350* for 20 to 25 minutes

    yileds: 6 servings
