    List of Ingredients

One of the best ways to enjoy the benefits of honeysuckles is to make a tea with the flowers. If you are real good you can use the honeysuckle tea to make a jelly also. In this article we are exploring the health benefits of honeysuckle tea and how to make your very own tea with fresh picked flowers from your own neighborhood. When you go to harvest the honeysuckles make sure you are harvesting in an area that isn't sprayed with chemicals or in an area that will be polluted by cars such as a long side roads.

I like to harvest from my own backyard but not everyone is that lucky. If hiking to the vines, use a small day pack to carry your harvest of fresh honeysuckle flowers in. They won't be heavy and will easily freeze when you get them home for long storage. You can use both the yellow and white flowers, you want to make sure when you harvest the flowers or at least before using them that all the green leaves are taken out, they will make your tea bitter. Next make sure to wash the flowers because they will be loaded with pollen and throw out any wilted or bad looking ones. Take about a cup of fresh flowers and put them into a gallon tea pitcher, boil about half gallon of water and pour over the flowers, allow steeping for about 10 minutes. You can get creative and add in six bags of either green or white tea if you want. Once the time is up if you prefer a slightly sweetened tea add in about half cup of organic sugar. Strain out all the flowers and bags; allow the tea to chill in the refrigerator for the best taste.

The following are the health benefits attributed to honeysuckle tea:
