    Recipe Introduction

A sugar cone crust reinforces the ice cream parlor flavors here. A graham cracker crust is also good.

    List of Ingredients

    2 small ripe bananas, peeled
    1 TBS fresh lemon juice
1 pint vanilla ice cream, softened
    1 prepared crumb crust
    1 cup Caramel sauce
    1/c c walnut pieces
    1 c heavy cream, chilled
    1/2 c confectioners' sugar
    1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
    1 cup hot fudge sauce
    6 to 8 maraschino cherries

Place the bananas in a large mixing bowl, sprinkle them with the lemon juice, and mash them lightly with a fork. Add the ice cream and mash the mixture with the back of a wooden spoon until the ice cream and bananas are well combined.
Turn the ice cream mixture into the prepared crust and smooth the top with the back of a spoon. Spread the caramel sauce over the ice cream and sprinkle on the walnuts. Place the pie in the freezer.
Combine the heavy cream, confectioners' sugar, and vanilla in a medium size mixing bowl and using an electric mixer whip the cream until it holds soft peaks. Remove the pie from the freezer and spread the whipped cream over the top with a rubber spatula. Cover the pie with plastic wrap and freeze it until the filling is completely set, at least 3 hours and up to 1 week.
To serve, cut the pie into 6 or 8 slices and place each slice on a dessert plate. Pur some hot fudge sauce over each slice and top with a maraschino cherry.
