Materials:

thick hardcover book
box cutter
roll of quarters
disposable camera
phone card
address stickers
photographs
brown paper

Steps:

Use a box cutter to cut a rectangle out of the pages of a large hardcover book--going about 10 pages deeper each cut. Cut in a fashion that creates a cubby hole in the center of the book.


Place items in the hollow area and secure tightly. Wrap with brown paper and mail.


For a neat twist, reduce photographs to the size of mailing labels at a local printing shop. The smaller images can be added to an address to create personalized address labels that the student can use when writing home.
