BAKED FRENCH TOAST WITH APPLES

- 2 EGGS
- 1/2 CUP MILK
- 1 TABLESPOON PLUS 1 TEASPOON FIRMLY PACKED DARK BROWN SUGAR OR LIGHT
- 1 TEASPOON CINNAMON
- 4 SLICES WHITE BREAD, CUBED
- 2 SMALL APPLES, PARED, CORED AND DICED
- 3 TABLESPOONS FLOUR
- 2 TABLESPOONS FIRMLY PACKED DARK OR LIGHT BROWN SUGAR
- 2 TESPOONS BUTTER OR MARGARINE
- 1/8 TEASPOON CINNAMON
Instructions
- PREHEAT OVEN TO 350°. SPRAY TWO 5 X 3" LOAF PANS WITH NONSTICK COOKING SPRAY.
- IN A MEDIUM BOWL, LIGHTLY BEAT EGGS, ADD MILK, BROWN SUGAR AND CINNAMON, STIRRING TO BLEND. ADD BREAD CUBES AND APPLES, STIRRING GENTLY, LET STAND UNTIL BREAD ABSORBES THE LIQUID, ABOUT 2 TO 5 MINUTES.
- IN A SMALL BOWL, COMBINE FLOUR, BROWN SUGAR, BUTTER AND CINNAMON WITH A FORK.
- DIVIDE BREAD MIXTURE EVENLY BETWEEN PREPARED LOAF PANS, SPRINKLE EACH WITH CINNAMON FLOUR MIXTURE..
- BAKE 35 TO 40 MINUTES OR UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN. REMOVE FROM OVEN AND COOL SLIGHTLY, SERVE WARM. TOP WITH SOME COOL WHIP IF DESIRED.
