STUFFED FRENCH TOAST
List of Ingredients
- 4 SLICES WHITE BREAD 1" THICK
- 4 OUNCES OF SOFTENED CREAM CHEESE
- 3 TABLESPOONS FRUIT SPREAD OR JAM, YOUR CHOICE
- 2/3 CUPS MILK
- 2 EGGS
- 1 TEASPOON SUGAR
- 1 TEASPOON VANILLA EXTRACT
- 1/2 TEASPOON CINNAMON
- 2 CUPS SLICED FRUIT, YOUR CHOICE
- 2 TABLESPOONS POWDERED SUGAR
Instructions
- CUT EACH BREAD SLICE IN HALF CROSSWISE. WITH A SHARP KNIFE CUT A HORIZONTAL SLIT IN EACH HALF SLICE TO MAKE A POCKET.
- IN A MEDIUM BOWL, COMBINE CREAM CHEESE AND FRUIT SPREAD. STIR TILL SMOOTH.
- SPREAD 1/8 OF THE MIXTURE IN EACH BREAD POCKET. PINCH EDGES OF BREAD TOGETHER TO HOLD THE FILLING.
- IN A SHALLOW BOWL, WHISK TOGETHER MILK, EGG, SUGAR, VANILLA AND CINNAMON.
- DIP FILLED BREAD IN EGG MIXTURE TO COAT BOTH SIDES. COOK ABOUT 6 MINUTES OR UNTIL GOLDEN TURNING ONCE.
- TOP WITH SLICED FRUIT AND SPRINKLE POWDERED SUGAR OVER THE TIP.
